According to reports, Jane Lauder will depart her role at The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC), the beauty company founded by her grandmother. She is currently executive vice president, enterprise marketing and chief data officer.
Lauder will remain on the board of directors, according to sources. She has been on the board since 2009.
In her role as chief data officer, a role she began in 2020, Lauder accelerated ELC’s enterprise-wide innovation strategy, including deployment of AI and ground-breaking technology tools to advance the way the company gathers and applies consumer insights, trends and high-touch experiences. She leads ELC’s artificial intelligence task force and has been instrumental in defining and deploying the company’s global AI strategies in support of enterprise operations and consumer outreach.
Prior to her 2020 appointment as chief data officer, Lauder was global brand president for Clinique, where she tripled the beauty giant’s online business and launched the brand’s breakthrough digital skin diagnostic tool (Clinique Clinical Reality).
She also served as brand president for Origins, Ojon and Darphin.
Lauder, who also leads ELC’s gender equity strategy and serves as the executive chair of the company’s global women in leadership efforts, has an endowed data science professorship at Stanford University, her alma mater.
With her departure, the remaining family memers on the executive team are: William P. Lauder, executive chairman; Leonard A. Lauder, chairman emeritus and Ronald S. Lauder,. chairman, Clinique Laboratories, LLC.
