Summer 2024 is around the corner, and consumers want candy just as much as they desire to smell like it.

According to beauty trend tracker Spate, the moment’s top-growing personal fragrance trends are caramel and gourmand perfumes.

Skylar's “Boardwalk Delight” features a blend of cotton candy, raspberry sorbet and coconut milk, balanced by vanilla. It was introduced in 2022 on skylar.com and sold out more than five times.

Caramel Perfume

According to analysts, caramel perfume is everywhere, and the combinations are infinite: vanilla, salted, chai swirl and pistachio are among the most popular searches among Gen Zers. In fact, caramel perfume is experiencing a +78.2% YoY growth, with an average of 4.3K monthly searches. While there’s currently no competition, one of the top search results includes Sabrina Carpenter’s fairly new perfume, “Sweet Tooth: Caramel Dream,” which she launched last August via a partnership with perfume subscription service Scentbird

Gourmand Perfume

Consumer searches indicate a keen interest in gourmand scents and fragrances in general. This, analysts say, reflects a growing sophistication in consumers’ knowledge of fragrance and their understanding of scent profiles.

Gourmand perfume typically features synthetic notes of honey, chocolate, vanilla, or candy. Per Spate, this category is growing at a rate of +77.5% YoY, with an average of 4.2K monthly searches.
