New CEP Course: Sustainable Cosmetic Development

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists will hold a new CEP course on sustainable cosmetic product development on Sept. 25 at its headquarter office in New York City. The course is designed for professionals in the personal care, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries engaged in all aspects of product development, including R&D, technology, formulation and product development, marketing and technical sales, regulatory affairs, QA & QC professionals and business decision makers.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the key driving forces behind the global sustainable consumer movement;
  • Describe the major trends in developing sustainable cosmetic products; and
  • Summarize the emerging and controversial issues over sustainable sourcing, manufacturing practices, green marketing claims and substantiation.
The instructor is Wen Schroeder, founder and president of Seki Cosmeticals. Schroeder is an expert for the ASEAN-EU program for regional integration support in cosmetic and pharmaceutical GMP and testing. With more than 20 years of industrial experience, 30 US patents and numerous publications, Schroeder, is an internationally recognized lecturer on cosmetic science and regulatory affairs.

She is the editor of a newly published book,“Sustainable Cosmetic Product Development.”
