Procedure

Prepare Phase B in the main vessel by hydrating for 30 minutes and neutralizing the polymer. Weigh Phase A and heat to 80°C. Add Phase A1 to heated Phase A and mix well. Weigh and add Phase C to the main vessel. Add Phase B and heat to 80°C while mixing. Maintain temperature for 5 minutes. When both Phase C and A are at temperature, add A to C, and homogenize for 3 minutes. Add Phase D to the main vessel and continue to mix. After 25 minutes, cool down to 45°C. Add Phase E and homogenize for 1 minute. Adjust final pH between 5.5 to 6.0. Mix until cool and uniform.

Properties

Appearance—Uniform and glossy cream; Color—Pale yellow to yellow; Odor—Mild characteristic odor; pH—6.0 ± 0.5 at 20°C; Viscosity—10,000-15,000 cP at 20°C Brookfield Viscometer, DV-S, Spindle #6, 50 rpm; Centrifuge—No separation at RT for 30 min. 3,000 rpm; Stability—Stable for 5 freeze-thaw cycles; Stable for 3 months at 45°C.
